Position Summary
SUMMARY:
Directly leads performance of Mortgage Sales and Secondary Marketing. Provides coaching and leadership for the sales and secondary teams to ensure overall success. Develops mortgage lending strategies in partnership with the VP – Mortgage Lending to meet the credit unions organizational goals. Develops new relationships and participates in activities to increase the credit union’s share of the mortgage market in all of Royal’s footprint. Represents Royal Credit Union in the communities we serve in leadership roles as appropriate. Drives efficiency to maximize production, maximize profit, and minimize delinquency rates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the planning related to all mortgage sales growth, retention, and quality.
Assists the VP-Mortgage Lending with strategic planning related to sales, production, growth, retention, and quality for the Mortgage Sales division.
Provide direction to achieve volume, profit and quality objectives aligned with goals for all mortgage sales and secondary.
Focus on building, developing, and maintaining a high performing team.
Provide assistance to mortgage sales and secondary teams through efficiencies, product development, quality service, strategic marketing, and ongoing training.
Provide monthly forecasting to project applications, closed units, and dollars to assist in pipeline management and secondary market sales.
Monitor and follow-up on Net Promoter Score (NPS) surveys as needed.
Ensure team members are knowledgeable on Federal and State regulatory requirements.
Utilize quality control reports to coach as needed.
Establish specific goals and monitor progress with Mortgage Sales Managers and Regional Sales Managers. Achieve service level standards set by VP Mortgage Lending.
Develop and implement mortgage department policies, procedures, technology, budgeting, and planning. Ensure the mortgage loan pipeline is maximizing efficiency and throughput.
Coordinate with mortgage sales and secondary leaders on the execution of process improvements, process changes.
Monitor, analyze and report on industry and market trends.
Oversees the review of Mortgage pricing exceptions and non-saleable portfolio loan production. Collaborates with other lines of business such as Branch Operations, Business Lending, and Consumer Lending to ensure strategic direction and Member service is aligned across business units.
Education & Experience
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
1. 7-10+ years working in Mortgage Lending that includes experience working with both Sales and Secondary Marketing
2. 3-5+ years Management and Leadership experience
3. Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Administration or the Equivalent in Experience
4. Experience working with FANNIE MAE, FREDDIE MAC, FHA, VA, and all investor manuals.
